The 2016 Good Food Award winners are out.

Chocolate and confection companies made up 23 of the 176 winners, who were celebrated with a gathering in San Francisco attended by more than 800 people.

The Good Food Awards celebrate tasty, authentic and responsibly produced food. The winners come from 33 states, chosen from a pool of 1,937 entries in a blind tasting held in September with 203 judges. The highest scoring entries then underwent a rigorous vetting process to verify that they meet the sustainability and social responsibility criteria for winning the award.

The winners represent the forefront of American craft food, offering products that are delicious, respectful of the environment, and connected to communities and cultural traditions.

“Twenty years ago, it took travelling across the globe to encounter something so exquisite that it jolted me into seeing the world with new eyes," says Sarah Weiner, founder, Good Food Awards. "Now, you are giving people a taste of how good life can be right here on our own soil…changing America’s definition of Good Food.”
