Established more than 30 years ago, A.M.P-Rose is one of the world’s leading suppliers of machines to the confectionery and chocolate industries, specializing in new, used and rebuilt processing and packaging machines.amp1

This year at ProSweets A.M.P-Rose will be showcasing its capabilities of upgrading, retro-fitting, and supplying spares for various used machinery. As food manufacturing companies strive to reduce cost, today’s production managers demand that packaging machines have higher speeds, greater efficiencies and more automation. This, combined with the fact that companies are increasingly moving away from in-house maintenance staff, means that the need for outsourcing engineering skills is increasing.

This can take the form of an on-site improvement such as a change of format on a machine or a design improvement to increase machine efficiency. It may also mean a complete machine renovation or re-design conducted at A.M.P-Rose’s factory in Gainsborough, England.

It is not uncommon to find machinery in food factories that are more than 30 years old. Such machines may still be operational but often they do not meet today’s requirements, not only in terms of output and efficiency, but also in terms of operator safety. Typical improvements to such machines include the supply or upgrading of machine guards and electrics including ‘CE’ marking if required, and retrofitting with PLC’s and easy-to-use ‘man-machine interface units’ (‘MMI’s’). Replacement of mechanical units with newer technology like servo drives or other types of drives is also commonplace.

At its ProSweets booth, A.M.P-Rose will showcase a stand-alone, servo-driven, paper-feed unit with registration. From years of experience rebuilding used machines to new standards, we have found that paper -feed units are often dated, uneconomical or have no registration. The feed unit has been designed to be a retro-fit to any wrapping machine regardless of speed or manufacture.

A key feature for the paper-feed unit is that it does not require the operator to measure and program new cut-off lengths; the unit simply measures the gap between the print and makes its own calculation. The print position in relation to the cut off can be simply adjusted using on screen directional buttons.

A.M.P-Rose supplies genuine spare parts for all Rose, Forgrove and A.M.P-Rose confectionery and chocolate machines, as well as parts for many other makes of machines, including size-change parts, replacement knives, cams, gears and the like.
