Alison Bodor, e.v.p. of the National Confectioners Association, is slated to leave the confectionery industry.

Bodor, who joined the NCA in 2000, provided strategic leadership across multiple disciplines while leading the association's public policy and advocacy team. She oversaw the NCA's legislative, regulatory, and research priorities around health, food safety and quality, agriculture and trade policy, and the cocoa supply chain.

She has been appointed the new president and ceo of the American Frozen Food Institute, where her extensive public policy and leadership experience will help strengthen efforts on behalf of the frozen food and beverage community. Bodor will take charge of the institute on May 16.

Prior to joining the NCA, Bodor held positions in domestic and international regulatory compliance at McCormick & Co. and the U.S. Dairy Export Council. She also spent four years conducting dietary risk assessments for food and beverage industries with Technical Assessment Systems and Environ Intl. Corp.

Her experience will be helpful to AFFI, as she joins the institute at a time when nutrition, food safety, food labeling and international trade remain active policy and regulatory issues. In addition to the regulatory and policy work, the AFFI also continues to engage and educate consumers and key influencers about the benefits of their products and the economic role they play in the economy.

The institute believes Bodor is a strong leader who can build on the institute's previous successes and position AFFI to advance the industry's policy, regulatory, and education initiatives.

In accepting the position, Bodor says, “I am honored to have been selected to lead AFFI and look forward to working with the outstanding staff, members and AFFI Board of Directors to advance the public policy objectives of the frozen food and beverage category.”

Bodor holds an MBA from the University of Maryland and a bachelor’s degree in Food Science from Cornell University.
