Candy companies are teaming up to offer a sweet way to safely celebrate Valentine’s Day amid COVID-19.

American Licorice is selling a Valentine’s Day Care Crate this year, which also features candy from Jelly Belly, Goetze's Candy and Spangler.

Sold online for $15.99, they are packed with a variety of indulgent goodies in an attractive box design, including a selection of candy plus treats for at-home pampering. The companies hope the compilation boxes encourage gift givers to deliver a thoughtful Valentine’s Day gift from a safe social distance.

Specifically, the crates include:

  • Sour Punch Hearts (in an 8-oz. stand-up pouch)
  • Red Vines Valentine Twists (4-oz. tray)
  • Goetze's Brownie-Flavored Cow Tales
  • Jelly Belly Cupid Corn
  • Spangler Sweethearts
  • Spangler Dum Dums

Other, non-candy goodies in the box include:

  • Sour Punch-flavored ‘Embrace Your Punch’ Lip Balm
  • Trail Mix Recipe
  • DIY Facial Scrub Recipe
  • Adult Coloring Activity
  • QR Code to Valentine’s Day Playlist to help the recipient relax and unwind from the winter chills

The crates are similar to the Boo Boxes American Licorice sold for Halloween 2020, which also featured items from other candy companies. Both allow consumers to experience the joy of collecting candy from multiple brands without the need to go to a physical store or see loved ones in person.

In addition to the Valentine’s Day Crates, American Licorice also launched some of it’s famous brands in Valentine’s Day specific shapes and packaging.

Sour Punch is re-releasing its iconic heart-shaped candy with the Sour Punch Valentine's Day Hearts’ mix of Watermelon, Strawberry Lemonade and Fruit Punch flavors. This small pouch format is the perfect size for snacking and sharing a little love on-the-go, and Sour Punch candy is always fat-free, low-sodium and kosher and halal certified.

The Sour Punch Valentine’s Day Hearts’ mix has a suggested retail price of $1.19 - $1.39 for a 2.5-oz. pouch at selected retailers. They also are available online in an 18-count-pack of 2.5-oz. pouches for $14.99.

And Red Vines has given its Original Red Twists a Valentine makeover with new packaging for its Red Vines Valentine’s Day Twists. The treat pairs well with salty snacks like chips, popcorn of trail mix while also being totally fat-free, making it the perfect treat to accompany an at-home date night.
