Peeps & Co. to open at Mall of America
The Mall of America is about to get even sweeter. Peeps, Mike and Ike, Hot Tamales and the entire collection of Just Born confections are moving in.
Peeps & Co., the retail arm of Just Born, Inc. plans to open a 2,500-sq.-ft. store in the Bloomington, Minn., mall by the end of the year.
This announcement comes on the heels of the company’s first retail store, which opened at National Harbor, Md., in 2009, and the debut of the online store, www.peepsandcompany.com, which went live in the spring of this year.
The store, which in addition to candy also will sell branded items, such as apparel, accessories and gifts, will be designed to include captivating music, lights, interactive displays, and videos featuring historic and present day elements of the company’s brands.
“Our Mall of America store represents an exciting step in the strategic development of our Peeps & Co. retail brand,” says David Yale, president and ceo of Just Born. “We have much reason for optimism as our first store at National Harbor has had a strong first two years, despite the continued, challenging economic environment. At Mall of America, our popular location within the complex, combined with our eye-catching store design and appealing products, will make Peeps & Co. an absolute consumer destination.”
