Katjes brings plant-based gummies to the U.S.
Brand launches in U.S. with three SKUs.

Katjes, Germany’s second largest gummy candy brand, has expanded to the U.S. with a 100 percent plant-based portfolio.
Since launching in May 2021, Katjes USA has secured a nationwide listing at Walgreens with further retail listings set for spring 2022. The brand’s direct-to-consumer online shop is also live.
Katjes’ plant-based selection of gummy candy is the newest addition to the better-for-you category. The German company has been focused on replacing animal gelatin with plant-based alternatives for the past decade, making it the largest plant-based gummy brand in Europe.
Katjes’ products feature a chewy texture, despite not using gelatin as a gelling agent. The products are also carbon neutral, palm oil-free and contain no high fructose corn syrup.
The U.S. launch portfolio includes three SKUs that stand out in their bright pink, resealable 4.9-oz. standup pouches:
- Rainbow: A multicolored celebration of love and diversity
- Sour: A tart adventure with unicorns, fairies and hearts
- Love & Stars: A red, white and blue patriotic nod to Katjes’s new American home
A fourth innovation is in the pipeline, to be introduced at the 2022 Sweets & Snacks Expo.
