Perfetti Van Melle to package Mentos Pure Fresh Gum in paperboard bottle
Company unveiled the packaging innovation at the Sweets & Snacks Expo.
Perfetti Van Melle is launching Mentos Pure Fresh Gum in a paperboard bottle in the U.S.
This is the first product in the gum category from a major global confectioner to be delivered to market in a paperboard bottle. The new bottle is 90 percent paperboard, is certified recyclable, and contains instructions for recycling. Consumers can use their typical curbside services or local drop-off programs.
This paperboard bottle uses technology specifically tailored for Mentos Pure Fresh Gum in a unique partnership between Perfetti Van Melle and AR Packing Systems AB. The technology is designed to ensure Mentos’ high standards for product safety and freshness.
Available in two flavors, Fresh Mint and Spearmint, each bottle comes with 80 pieces. The U.S. suggested retail price is $4.99. It’s expected to become available on retail shelves in the first half of 2022.
Perfetti Van Melle introduced this new Mentos Pure Fresh paperboard bottle to the U.S. market during the Sweets & Snacks Expo. It won the 2021 Most Innovative New Product Award in the Gum & Mints category.
