Jelly Belly names new plant manager

Danny Williams to run North Chicago facility

Jelly Belly Candy Co.’s newest North Chicago, Ill. plant manager most recently worked for DeMets Candy, and also has worked for Impact Confectioners, Nestlé and Mars.

The candy company has appointed Danny Williams to the role, and he brings with him extensive experience in plant management and engineering.

Previously, he was director of process and technology at DeMets Candy, and he’s also been a plant manager for Impact Confections. Williams also worked for Nestlé’s Powerbar, and was a program manager and process engineer at Mars
M&M’S Jelly Belly Candy Co. is a leading candy manufacturer, most famous for it’s jelly beans. A family business that was established in 1898, it is currently run by the fourth and fifth generation.

The creation of Jelly Belly jelly beans launched the company into worldwide prominence after Ronald Reagan was seen eating them on the presidential campaign trail in 1980. The company currently makes more than 130 flavors, the largest selection on the market, plus 100 other gourmet candies including jells, gummies, chocolate-covered treats, and seasonal sweets for the major holidays.

Headquartered in Fairfield, Calif., the company operates plants in Illinois, California and Thailand.
