Pack your bags and prepare for a sweet adventure.

The Confectionery Foundation, a division of the National Confectioners Association (NCA), has developed an online map of candy outlet stores and factory tours that encourages travelers to experience American confectionery companies and brands.

“This interactive map provides the opportunity to celebrate chocolatey, crunchy and chewy traditions and create delicious new memories throughout the year,” says Sara Clair, chairperson of the Confectionery Foundation.

Found at ConfectionLink.org, the map pinpoints attractions including train rides, videos and self-guided tours with many company stores displaying historic photos, equipment and offering samples. More than 100 locations belonging to 18 companies are marked, and additional locations will be added in 2017.

“Our candy industry brings together consumers around the nation and around the world,” Clair says. “The ConfectionLink.org map will help you shop like a local even when traveling many miles from home or add a destination and adventure on your trip. Online shopping is easy, but in-person, particularly in our industry, can be a hands-on experience and fun.”

Participating companies include Albanese Confectionery Group, Blommer Chocolate Co., Brown & Haley, Ethel M, Fannie May, Ghirardelli, Goetze’s Candy Co., Hershey’s Chocolate World, Jelly Belly Candy Co., Kimmie Candy Co., The Madelaine Chocolate Co., M&M’S World, Palmer’s Old Tyme Shoppe, Peeps & Co., Russell Stover Chocolates, Seattle Chocolates, Spangler Candy Co., and Sweet’s Candy Co.

The Confectionery Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that creates educational initiatives that bring together industry volunteers and fosters American manufacturing traditions and culture in our communities. The foundation’s mission is to support and strengthen the American confectionery industry through education, research and philanthropy.
