With its latest product releases, Ferrara's Laffy Taffy—the candy brand known for jokes on every wrapper—is proving that when it comes to consumer feedback, they walk the walk, the candymaker says.

Blue Raspberry, a flavor always trending among consumers, was not included in Laffy Taffy assorted packs—and consumers had continuously asked, “where’s blue raspberry?!” In response, the brand recently released Blue Raspberry Mini Bar Flavor Packs to make the beloved Mini Bar flavor more accessible to consumers, a direct reflection of both shopper preference and overall flavor trends.

This comes on the heels of last year’s new and improved wrappers, which addressed consumers’ calls for an easier-to-open solution. These recent launches show that the 55-year-old brand is listening and evolving to put consumers first and respond to their preferences, it says.

To learn more about the brand's new flavors and consumer trends in taffy, we reached out to Dominique Marisie, associate brand manager, Ferrara Candy Company.


Liz Parker Kuhn: The brand recently released Blue Raspberry Mini Bar Flavor packs due to consumers asking for the flavor. What makes the flavor so popular?

Dominique Marisie: Consumers love Blue Raspberry for its bold, tangy and sweet flavor. Since Blue Raspberry Laffy Taffy Mini Bars are not part of our assorted packs, launching Blue Raspberry mono-flavor packs gives fans an easy way to enjoy more of the flavor they love. 

 

LPK: Can you also talk about consumer preferences and flavor trends in taffy?

DM: Our top sellers continue to be our assorted Laffy Taffy variety bags, including fan-favorites like Strawberry, Banana, Sour Apple and Grape. At the same time, we see strong demand for our single-pack flavors, including our Gone Bananas pack, which is all Banana. While it can be a polarizing flavor, it drives strong sales among the fans who love it.

 

LPK: Can you please talk about the new release of the All Reds Mini Bar Flavor Pack?

DM: The Laffy Taffy All Reds Mini Bar pack includes two of our top flavors, Cherry and Strawberry! It’s perfect for consumers who can’t get enough of those popular flavors. Fans can find All Reds packs available in retailers nationwide.  

 

LPK: Why did the brand want to release a pack with all red flavors?

DM: Red and pink flavors are classic consumer favorites, including Strawberry and Cherry Laffy Taffy, so we wanted to give fans more of what they love! We’re always innovating and evolving to delight Laffy fans and show up in new, fun ways, and with the rollout of All Reds and Blue Raspberry, flavor packs are no exception. 

 

LPK: Last year the brand released new and improved wrappers. What is different about the new wrappers, and how did consumers react to them?

DM: Consumers have taken to social media to share their excitement on the new wrappers, with comments like “revolutionary,” and “finally.” The new Mini Bar wrapper allows for a clean, smooth, one-pull opening without sticking or shredding.  And don’t worry – the iconic jokes on every wrapper and the nostalgic, colorful design fans love remain a key part of the experience.

 

LPK: Anything else on the horizon for Laffy Taffy in 2026?

DM: There are certainly more exciting Laffy Taffy updates on the way, so stay tuned! The best way to stay up to date is by following us on social media, @laffytaffy on Instagram and TikTok. 

 

LPK: What’s your favorite Laffy Taffy flavor to enjoy?

DM: That’s a tough one! All of the flavors are great and taste just as good as they did when I was a kid, even the more polarizing ones, like banana.
