With multiple generations working side by side, the workplace can struggle to reconcile differences between employees from different generations.

Retail Confectioners International (RCI) aims to address the generation gap, among other relevant industry issues, at its Annual Convention & Industry Expo this year.

Keynote speaker Matt Havens will share strategies for closing the gap in "Us vs. Them," an education session designed to teach confectioners how to understand, recognize and resolve generational issues facing their businesses.

But that's just one of many topics that will be covered during the week-long convention.

"As an association, we exist to help retail confectioners succeed and this event is one of the ways we do that," says Angie Burlison, RCI Executive Director. "Through formal education sessions, as well as, the confectionery suppliers' expo and store tours, we provide a comprehensive and relevant educational experience for small business owners both established and new to the industry."

The expo will be held at The Westin Indianapolis from June 20-24, with education sessions presented on June 21-22. All confectionery professionals are invited to attend the event, which will also address topics such as:

●     Running Your Business From Your Phone, presented by Brian Pelletier, Kakao Chocolate

●     Caramel: A Confectioner's Best Friend, presented by Joe Sofia, Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate, and Dennis Witzel, Dennis Witzel Sales & Consulting

●     Growing Your Business Through Innovation, presented by Randy Good, Good's Candy Shop Running

A variety of ticket packages are available, along with an education package for those looking to focus on the expo and education only. A one-day education pass is available for $100, and early attendees can save $100 by registering by May 6. Registration is required for all convention events.
