IT’SUGAR has opened a 11,400-sq.-ft. location on the famed “Magnificent Mile” area of Chicago’s North Michigan Avenue.

The new candy department store, which opened April 7, took over the space recently vacated by the Disney Store. The lease is set to run through summer 2023, but it may be extended.

“America has always had a love affair with sugary treats like candy,” said Jeff Rubin, CEO & founder of IT’SUGAR. “We have captured this love affair in our stores that are filled with America’s beloved candy brands. There is no better location to open a candy department store in Chicago, the candy capital of the world, than on the Magnificent Mile. With the grandest assortment of confectionery treats and popular licensed merchandise, we are looking forward to bringing another sugar-filled emporium to Chicagoans.”

The location features more than two dozen candy stations housing nearly 400 different kinds of candy by the pound, with many exclusive flavors of Skittles, Sour Patch Kids, PEZ and more. Entire departments within the store are dedicated to brands including M&M’S, Skittles, Starburst, Reese’s, OREO, Sour Patch Kids, PEZ and among others. They are filled with unique branded confections and candy-themed gifts.

In the Michigan Avenue store, customers will be greeted by an 11-ft. Ferris wheel candy display, a lollipop garden made with more than 1,000 lollipops, and a Chicago skyline made entirely of jelly beans. The store celebrates the Candy Capital of the World featuring notable brands from Chicago, including Nerds, Tootsie Roll, Wrigley’s Gum, Charms Blow Pops, plus brands from around the world.
