Gourmet lollipop company, Lollyphile, has released Sriracha Bacon lollipops, just in time for the holidays.

On the Lollyphile website, the company describes the flavor of the Sriracha-Bacon Lollipop as, “candied, salty, spicy, peppery, porky, goodness.”  

“I'm not going to lie to you,” says Jason Darling, Lollyphile’s owner. “We had every intention of making a pumpkin pie spice lolly for Thanksgiving. But the ubiquitousness of pumpkins, the recent concerns of a sriracha shortage, and the Thanksgiving/Hannukah overlap made a Sriracha Bacon lollipop something that needed to happen."

Although the lollipops are made to taste like a mix of Thai chiles and smoked bacon, the 2-oz. pops don’t actually contain any real bacon and like all Lollyphile pops, they’re vegan.

"We've made several kinds of bacon candy and were the first to make a sriracha candy," explains Jason. "This feels like a pretty natural progression, headed straight for awesomeness."

Playing with interesting & unusual flavors is par for the course for Lollyphile. The company also has released Breast-Milk flavored lollipops, Blue Cheese flavored lollipops, and Wine-inspired lollipops, among many others.

Lollyphile started in San Francisco in 2008, offering Absinthe and Maple Bacon lollipops. Since then, they’ve substantially grown their flavor list, moved to Austin, Texas, and “have had a lot of fun.”
