Inspired by the desire to support those on the frontlines of the coronavirus outbreak, Chocolate Inspirations, a mother-and-daughter-owned chocolatier in Roselle, Illinois, is donating 500 ruby chocolate Easter bunnies to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.

“The mission of Chocolate Inspirations has always been to encourage positivity through chocolate, and there is no better time to spread positivity than now, especially for those who are out there risking their lives every day for people who have been infected with the coronavirus. We are so thankful for everything they are doing,” say Marcy Goetz, partner, and her mother and head chef, Pam Vieau.

Ruby chocolate was unveiled in 2017 in Shanghai, China. Since then, more than 70 brands in more than 50 countries have embraced Ruby, which was launched in the United States last year.

Through unique processing, Barry Callebaut created a taste experience that can be described as a combination of berry-fruitiness and luscious smoothness. Barry Callebaut donated the Ruby chocolate for the Easter bunnies to Chocolate Inspirations.

“It is very important for us as a company that we collaborate and show our support for all of our customers, big and small, especially ones like Chocolate Inspirations with a family legacy like ours, who are giving back to our community,” said Geert Kiesekoms, v.p. and general manager gourmet NA at Barry Callebaut.
