Equipment manufacturer tna has opened a new, state-of-the-art facility in Australia to support global demand for its high-performance food packaging solutions.

Located in the Melbourne suburb of Boronia, the new factory will allow tna to triple manufacturing capacities for its equipment, including its flagship vertical form fill and seal (VFFS) packaging system, the tna robag.

The new facility will house the latest manufacturing technology to ensure that tna maintains the quality build standards its equipment is known for. In addition, the new site will incorporate a training and demonstration center to provide customers and new staff with an opportunity to experience tna’s equipment in a live operational environment. In combination with tna’s on-site and online training programs, the new training facility will help customers improve workplace safety, reduce downtime, enhance operational efficiencies and maximize the lifespan and performance of their equipment.

Alf Taylor, tna managing director and co-founder, said the company has sold 84 packaging systems in a month, all due for delivery in 2019. He noted the new facility will help tna continue to meet demand for its machines.

“tna’s growth has been incredible over the years,” Taylor says. ”We’ve come a long way since we opened our first factory in Melbourne in 1986. We’re really proud of our new Australian manufacturing facility and can’t wait to welcome everyone at the new site.”

Founded in 1982 by Alf  and Nadia Taylor, tna invented the world’s first rotary, continuous motion, high-speed VFFS system. The company has since grown into a global leader of food processing and packaging solutions for a wide range of industries, including snacks, confectionery, fresh and frozen produce.

The opening of the new manufacturing site in Australia follows the opening of a food processing center in the Netherlands, which is dedicated to tna’s cutting edge processing equipment, including its range of fryers and freezers, but also pre-processing equipment such as peelers, washers and dryers. This adds to recent openings of new and expanded offices and resource centers in Tokyo, Bangkok, Dubai, Moscow and Mexico.
