Cargill files patent application for fiber-filled confectionery chews
Cargill’s application to the U.S. Patent and Trademark office suggests that a confectionery chew’s fiber content may allow it to be considered as a “good” source of dietary fiber, according to FDA labeling standards. The application indicates that the chew could be used “as a consumer food product or may be used as a supplement-type product.”
