Back by popular demand, Choceur Choco Changer—sourced via Open Chain by Tony’s Chocolonely—is getting a permanent spot on Aldi shelves.
Aldi was the first international discount grocer to join Tony’s Chocolonely’s Open Chain. In 2024, it launched its Choco Changer bars as a limited-time Aldi Find—and they sold out in just weeks. Since then, shoppers have asked for its return. The Choco Changer bars will be available in Milk with Nougat Honeycomb & Sea Salt flavor, as well as Milk with Brownie & Salted Caramel, and Dark with Salty Fudge & Almond.
Choco Changer bars join a lineup of Aldi-exclusive chocolate that benefit farmers, workers, communities and the environment. From Choceur’s Superberry Pomegranate Dark Chocolate to Milk Chocolate Covered Almonds, 97% of Aldi private label chocolate and seasonal confectionary items are certified as responsibly sourced through Fairtrade, Fair Trade USA, or Rainforest Alliance.
More about the products:
- Traceable beans: All cocoa beans are 100% traceable and sourced directly from farmer cooperatives in West Africa, so it is clear exactly where and how the beans are grown.
- Slightly higher (but still affordable) price: Farmers receive premiums for every kilogram of cocoa beans, helping them earn a living income and invest in their farms, so paying a little extra makes a big difference.
- Support for farmers: Aldi supports professional farmer cooperatives with long-term commitments that give farmers income security, the opportunity to invest in their businesses, improve their yields, and get access to more markets.
- Fairtrade certified: The chocolate’s ingredients are Fairtrade-certified and sourced from Fairtrade producers. Selling cocoa, sugar and vanilla on Fairtrade terms supports farmers in various ways including financial support, training, environmental education, and more.
