Tony's Chocolonely, Veselka launch chocolate pierogies

Tony’s Chocolonely, the impact-driven chocolate brand on a mission to end exploitation in the cocoa industry, is teaming up with Veselka, the Ukrainian diner in New York City, to launch the Tony’s Choc-o-rogi—a sweet, Tony's Chocolonely chocolate-filled pierogi.

Tony’s ethically sourced chocolate meets Veselka’s handmade pierogi dough for a sweet and savory twist on the traditional Eastern European dumpling. The Pretzel, Dark Choc-o-rogi blends Tony’s Chocoloney’s rich dark milk chocolate pretzel toffee bar with Veselka’s signature dough to create a gooey, brownie-like filling.

Inspired by a shared love of bold flavors and storytelling through food, the partnership reimagines a traditional Eastern European dish through a modern, mission-driven lens. For Tony’s Chocolonely, it’s a new way to stir up conversations around fair trade and food justice, the brand says. For Veselka, it’s a fresh, flavorful way to honor Ukrainian culinary tradition while connecting with a new generation of food lovers, it notes.

The Tony’s Choc-o-rogi will make its public debut on Saturday, May 31, with a celebratory sampling activation at Veselka’s East Village location.

“We’re always looking for unexpected ways to bring people together through chocolate—whether by challenging norms in the cocoa industry or collaborating with partners who share our values,” says Aidaly Sosa Walker, head of marketing at Tony’s Chocolonely. “Veselka’s deep community roots and creative spirit made this collaboration feel effortless, and proves that serious impact doesn’t have to be serious all the time. It can taste like melty chocolate, buttery dough, and a really good idea.”

Available for a limited time, the Choco Pierogi will be sold at all Veselka's New York City locations—East Village, Grand Central Terminal, and Williamsburg—for $18 for five and available nationwide through Goldbelly.com and Veselka.com for $35 per dozen.
