Kentucky governor visits Perfetti Van Melle HQ
The company has invested nearly $70M in its operations in the state.

On Thursday, July 3, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear visited the Perfetti Van Melle USA Headquarters in Erlanger, KY. As part of his visit, the governor met with members of the Perfetti Van Melle Americas leadership team, where the focus was on the company’s history and growth in the Commonwealth as well as local and federal policy impacting the confectionery industry.
Company leaders shared Perfetti Van Melle USA facts, including investment of nearly $70 million in Kentucky operations over the past decade, plus a local workforce expansion of 3.5 times in the same period. The conversation also tackled key economic issues such as tariffs, taxes, evolving food policy, and of course, candy.
The visit concluded with a guided tour of the Perfetti Erlanger manufacturing facility, giving Beshear an inside look at the birthplace of Airheads candy.
