NxGen acquires Genesee Candy Land
The specialty fudge-maker grew to three locations with little investment in marketing.

NxGen Brands Inc. has acquired Genesee Candy Land, a business specializing in handmade and hand-poured fudge products, as well as its signature Animal Trackers candy bags. Genesee Candy Land has operated for more than eight years and distributes its products through more than 2,000 retail outlets across the U.S., including large hotels, resorts, gas stations, and independent retailers.
The business originated in the back room of the founder’s country store and has since expanded to its third location. Genesee Candy Land has experienced consistent growth, primarily through word-of-mouth and customer reviews, with minimal investment in marketing.
Marjorie Schaefer, CEO, NxGen Brands, says, “I am excited about this new direction of the company and with Genesee Candy Land. The founder built an amazing business without putting very little money into marketing the products and still saw growth year over year. With our team coming in and our marketing plan, we feel we will see exponential growth in the last months of Q4 and in all of 2026. The business has averaged $700,000+ over its eight years, and we know we can bring more growth to the brand with our plan in 2026. I also am overjoyed with the value it will bring our shareholders.”
