Askinosie introduces Dark Chocolate + Orange bar

Holiday bar inspired by chocolate-dipped candied orange peels.

Askinosie Chocolate has developed a holiday bar that serves as a modern rendition of a beloved seasonal flavor combination.

The Dark Chocolate + Orange bar is inspired by the Askinosie team’s love of chocolate-dipped candied orange peels.

“We formulated this bar over the course of a year, making minuscule tweaks to get the orange-to-chocolate ratio just right,” said Shawn Askinosie, founder and ceo of Springfield, Mo.-based Askinosie Chocolate.

Askinosie blended organic oranges — peel and pulp — and a dash of floral orange oil into its 58% Davao, Philippines dark chocolate, made with cocoa beans Askinosie sources directly from the farmer featured on the package. Featuring notes of fudge, tart citrus and vanilla sweetness, the bar is also certified kosher D.E., vegan, and gluten- and dairy-free.

Made from scratch at the Askinosie Chocolate factory, this chocolate bar is available for $8.50 at askinosie.com and select specialty food retailers nationwide.
