The American Association of Candy Technologists (AACT) has awarded Eric Schmoyer, senior project manager - R&D, Barry Callebaut, with the Stroud Jordan Award.
Named after Dr. Stroud Jordan, a pioneer candy technologist, the award recognizes individuals for their outstanding contributions to the confectionery industry.
“I am honored and humbled to receive the Stroud Jordan Award,” Schmoyer said. “My life’s passion is creating innovative chocolate solutions that give our customers the winning edge in the marketplace and which make consumers happy.”
The 13-year Barry Callebaut veteran is the company’s employee to be honored with the award. Schmoyer began his career at Barry Callebaut as a project manager, overseeing projects for regional customers in the United States and Mexico. He also spent two years at Barry Callebaut’s decorations facility, Mona Lisa, in Hendersonville, NC.
Schmoyer now works with regional sales managers on the U.S. East Coast to provide innovative solutions and technical services to bakery, ice cream and confectionery customers. Schmoyer is also the host of the Professional Manufacturing Confectioners Association’s (PMCA) Research Chat podcast.
