Bakeries that produce specialty rolls can benefit from the new and expanded line of roll makeup equipment offered by the Gemini Bakery Equipment Co. and its manufacturing and equity partner KB Systems.

The new lines come in several standard and customizable versions to fit the most demanding applications. The companies’ systems can produce gourmet hamburger rolls, Kaiser rolls and molded sandwich rolls ranging in lengths from 5 to 13 in. and weights ranging from 1 to 12 oz. KB Systems and Gemini can combine existing equipment with new designs to increase the flexibility and throughput previously offered by both firms.

To meet the recent surge in the demand for smaller sandwich rolls, the new systems provide greater production rates for products weighing 1.25 to 3 oz. Gemini recently delivered a 12-pocket mini-sandwich roll line and a 10-pocket gourmet roll line with capacity of more than 30,000 rolls per hour. These lines allow bakeries to produce smaller rolls much more efficiently at higher production rates compared to the more traditional 6- and 8-pocket lines. They also can be configured for peel boards, pans or both.

All systems are supplied with easy-to-use menu-driven Allen Bradley controls.
