Askinosie Chocolates'
65% Dark Chocolate + Tart Cherry bar, developed in collaboration with healthcare policy expert and chocolate lover Dr. Zeke Emanuel, has earned a Bronze medal at the 2025 International Chocolate Awards. The bar was recognized in the “Flavored: Dark Chocolate Bars with Inclusions or Pieces” category, which included entries from across the Americas.
This marks the fourth edition in a limited-run series between Emanuel and small-batch chocolatier Askinosie Chocolates. The bar features Trinitario cocoa beans sourced from Mababu, Tanzania, and Davao, Philippines, paired with tart cherries. Flavor notes include fudge, caramel, and bright cherry. It is vegan, gluten free, and Certified Kosher D.E.
The bar sold out earlier this year, but a re-release is expected in mid-fall 2025.
About the award, Emanuel states, "After decades of bioethics and health policy work, I finally have an award that rewards not my mind, but my taste. Thanks to the team at Askinosie Chocolate for your incredible partnership."
