Radio Frequency’s Macrowave Post-Baking Dryers use radio frequency energy, which preferentially heats and dries the moist areas of cookies, crackers and snack foods to eliminate surface checking and control moisture and color. Developed for high-volume cookie production, these dryers quickly remove residual moisture trapped within the center of the product, permitting conventional ovens to run at the maximum speed with the correct loft, crumb structure and color. Additionally, they are capable of increasing productivity by more than 30%.

Schenck Process’ MaxiStore Material Distribution Bridge provides the efficient filling of dry bulk solid materials in storage buildings. The system operates by using a traveling and reversible shuttle conveyor mounted along the sidewall of the storage area. Material is fed from outside the building on to an en-masse conveyor located within the bridge structure, and the shuttle belts allow the bridge to traverse on rails throughout the entire building. Afterwards, it is discharged via a series of gates located throughout the length of the en-masse conveyor filling the building from floor to roof while maximizing space and providing better and safer material distribution. The MaxiStore can handle bulk materials at rates in excess of 1,000 tons per hour.

Videojet’s 1610 Ink Jet Printer provides high-speed continuous coding for heavy-duty applications. The printer can print up to five lines of high-resolution print at speeds up to 960 ft. per minute and includes IP65 washdown and dust protection, which provides an environmental shield with no plant air required. Additionally, the vapor recovery system reduces solvent consumption and allows for longer runs before fluid change. The Smart Cartridge fluid system is designed to drain completely, wasting no residual fluids thus saving time and money. The needle-and-septum design also eliminates the need for operators to pour ink, preventing fluid spillage and waste. Plus, the Videojet 1610 is easier to integrate into existing systems with advanced connectivity technology, including its USB port, which allows for hot swapping print jobs and backing up messages.

Don’t just seal - superseal with OK International’s T-PAKTM 550 Supersealer. Equipped with a flat conveyor and a foam compression belt, the filled bag comes down the conveyor and comes under the foam compression belt, which takes the air out of the bag without harming the product. The package then enters the OK Supersealer to get the “perfect seal.” Furthermore, the Supersealer removes excess air from the bags, is custom built to meet various application requirements and is available in stainless steel or painted models. Designed to mix viscous materials requiring a combination of high and low shear mixing and dispersion, the patented Ross PowerMix by Charles Ross and Son includes two separate agitation systems within one system. A planetary blade revolves in combination with a separate high-speed dispersion blade. Both revolve on their own axis as well as on a common axis, and the speed of each can be varied independent of the other. This combination allows a user to fine tune the mixer to meet the facility’s specific process needs and the shear rates that are required to optimize this process.

Ashworth Bros. introduced Omni-Pro 075 to withstand 150 lb. of tension for 100,000 cycles, a rating that only heavy-duty belts could deliver - until now. The belt’s design minimizes cage bar wear, maintenance costs and downtime in the most demanding high-tension spiral applications. The shorter pitch of the Omni-Pro 075 is designed for small products and closer transfers. Unlike a traditional bridge weld, the 360-degree buttonless weld is free from surface imperfections and crevices, which eliminates bacteria entrapments and improves hygienic characteristics.

WeighPack Systems developed Controlled Atmosphere Packaging (CAP), which involves the removal of air from within a stand-up bag for extended freshness. Once the bag has been filled with product, the system replaces the air within the package with an inert air that suspends product deterioration in a safe and natural way before sealing the bag. CAP delivers a significant reduction in product returns from the retailer due to customer dissatisfaction.
