AACC International will tackle the complex and highly specialized area of third-party and customer audits from a global perspective.

The event will be held on Sept. 15-16 in Baltimore during the AACC International Annual Meeting. The forum is included with full registration to the 2009 AACC International Annual Meeting, but is also open to non-annual meeting attendees.

Key speakers for this event will include representatives from a major retailer, a food manufacturer and a representative from third-party audit programs.

Due to recent food safety issues in the United States and abroad, there is increased scrutiny on the safety of the nation’s food supply. The emphasis on food security, food safety and recalls has led to a rapid increase in the number and types of audits that are required, according to the St. Paul, Minn.-based organization.

As the industry responds to new audit requirements, companies are faced with the challenge of maintaining food safety and retaining consumer confidence, while effectively managing overall costs and complexity.
