General Mills Names Greg Schlafer VP, GM of Bakeries & Foodservice

Sheila Gallagher becomes vice president of sales and business development and Joe Ens moves up to vice president of marketing at General Mills, Minneapolis.

General Mills, Minneapolis, promotes Greg Schlafer to vice president, general manager of the General Mills bakeries and foodservice division, responsible for all sales and marketing activities across the division’s business organizations, including foodservice, convenience, in-store bakery, bakery ingredients/wholesale flour and restaurants.

Schlafer most recently held the position of vice president, general manager, for the division’s bakeries and restaurant solutions business. He started his career with General Mills in 1991 as a distribution management assistant at the Vernon, Calif., flour mill, before moving into numerous sales positions within the bakery channels before being promoted to director in 2003.

He also serves as vice chair of the North American Millers Association and is a board member of the International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association (IDDBA).

General Mills also appoints Sheila Gallagher to vice president of sales and business development within the company’s bakeries and foodservice division. This is an expansion of Gallagher’s current sales leadership role where she oversees all field sales, planning and operations for the foodservice and convenience organizations within the division.

In addition, Joe Ens becomes vice president, marketing for foodservice. Ens will lead all marketing activities for foodservice and convenience organizations within the division.
