Clarkson Grain acquires U.S. Soy

Clarkson Grain Co. Inc., Cerro Gordo, Ill., has acquired U.S. Soy, a Mattoon, Ill.-based provider of organic and non-GM soy ingredients to the food industry.

Finalized on July 16, the purchase gives Clarkson Grain the U.S. Soy name and the company’s Mattoon storage and processing facilities, which include a soybean receiving station and more than 1 million bushels of storage specifically designed for identity-preserved soybean handling. The Mattoon processing facilities also have cleaning and milling capabilities, dry and oil roasting lines, and bag and bulk packaging systems.

Clarkson Grain supplies specialty grains, oilseed and ingredients to food and feed processors. With more than 30 years of experience, it draws selected raw materials from farmers in the U.S., Canada and South America.

Clarkson Grain now looks forward to growing its service to the roasted soybean markets, both non-GM and organic, and to expanding its export business into identity-preserved soybeans.
