Launched at iba 2012 in September, Unifiller’s multistation depositor can deliver deposit speeds up to five times faster than most gearwheel depositors, the company says, and can handle chunky fillings, stiff batters, batters with particulates, heavy cake mixes and more without slowing down. It also offers portion control, maintains product integrity with gentle portioning and is easy to use. Other features include interchangeable fixed-nozzle templates or adjustable centers, a compact, portable design, an integrated conveyor, a built-in pan sensor and PLC control, color touchscreen and servo-driven, computer-controlled pistons. Various accessories and nozzles also are available.

Videojet Technologies’ thermal-transfer ribbons are now available in lengths up to 1,200 m., allowing for extended run times and fewer ribbon changes. Long Length ribbons are compatible with various substrates, such as coated papers, metallic foils and films, and they offer good print quality at high speeds and sharp bar codes at 90 deg. They also resist smudging and abrasion. In addition, they can be used for numerous applications, including bagged snacks and bars.

3M introduces the 3M AccuGlide Taping Head NPH. The narrow-profile taping head is designed to fit any case-sealing system quickly and easily. It enables any case-sealing system to reach throughput speeds of up to 100 ft. per minute, even with lighter corrugated materials. The new heads will be supplied with any qualifying 3M System Tape agreements.

The P-Series Venturi loader from K-Tron is designed for conveying powders in sanitary food applications. It can be used to upload hoppers as well as loss-in-weight feeder refill applications and meets 3A Dairy sanitary requirements. The body is made of AISI 316L stainless steel and features a modular construction and sanitary design that allow for easy disassembly and cleaning. The unit is available in two outlet configurations—powered flap or active-driven butterfly valve discharge—with convey rates up to 660 lb. per hour and a minimum holding capacity of 0.34 ft.3. It comes standard with a 115/230-v AC, 15-amp controller.

The Cobra Plus semi-automatic stretch-wrapping machine from ITW Muller can wrap large and oddly shaped loads that are unstable or heavy. A rotating arm technology keeps pallet loads in place while stretch wrapping, and the arm can be easily adjusted to achieve a wrapping diagonal of 78 in. or 87 in. The Cobra Plus can wrap up to 35 pallets per hour, pre-stretch film up to 260% and wrap pallets up to 116 in. high. The unit comes with an independent floor stand, but can also be mounted to a column or wall.
