Product Snapshot: According to Balance Bar Co., its new Balance Bar Dark line is the first nutrition bar line on the market to bear the Rainforest Alliance Certified seal, indicating to consumers that its cocoa beans are grown on sustainably managed farms. The bars are high in protein, certified gluten-free and a source of antioxidants (vitamins A, C and E), as well as contain 4 g. of fiber per serving. As with all Balance Bar products, the new line follows the 40-30-30 nutrition principle to help stabilize blood sugar levels that represent the calorie ratio the body needs for lasting balanced energy and to satisfy hunger longer (40% of total calories from carbohydrates, 30% from quality protein and 30% from dietary fat). Consumers can choose from three flavors: Dark Chocolate Crunch, Dark Chocolate Coconut and Dark Chocolate Peanut.
