Esther Price Candies announces new VP of operations
The confectioner has promoted Jennifer McElroy to the role.

Esther Price Candies, a Dayton-based confectionery company celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, has announced the promotion of Jennifer McElroy to vice president of operations.
McElroy assumes the role at a pivotal moment for the family-owned company, which has built its reputation over the past century on craftsmanship, consistency, and attention to detail, it says. In her new position, she will oversee operational strategy, production standards, marketing, and team development while helping guide the company into its next century of business.
“Jen’s leadership, attention to detail, and deep understanding of our operations make her the right person to step into this role as we enter our second century,” said Doug Dressman, CEO of Esther Price Candies. “She understands that our success is built on people, process and pride in doing things the right way. Her promotion reflects both her impact on the organization and our confidence in her vision for the future.”
McElroy said operations is where tradition meets execution, ensuring recipes are protected, quality is upheld, and standards are consistently applied.
“Every box that leaves our facility represents the work of a team that takes pride in doing things the right way, even when no one is watching,” she says, noting that the company’s centennial milestone belongs to the employees who have passed down knowledge, habits, and pride across generations.
“I am incredibly proud to step into this role at such an important moment for the company,” she says. “I share this achievement with an exceptional team that makes everything we do possible.”
As vice president of operations, McElroy said her focus will be on protecting what makes the brand distinctive while strengthening how the company works. That includes investing in employees, supporting thoughtful growth, and ensuring Esther Price is positioned to deliver the same quality and care for the next 100 years as it has for the last.
Founded in 1926, Esther Price Candies has remained rooted in Dayton, Ohio, serving generations of customers with handcrafted chocolates and confections. The company’s centennial year includes celebrations recognizing its employees, leadership, and the community that has supported the brand for a century.
