That’s why Solvay Chemicals’ BICAR Sodium Bicarbonate manufacturing facility in Parachute, Colo., has achieved certification to the ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System Standard. Within the framework of the ISO standard, Solvay Chemicals manages its food safety program using a Hazards Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP) system and manufactures according to the FDA’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). In fact, it stands alone as the first and only North American sodium bicarbonate production facility to reach the milestone of ISO 22000 certification.

Used as leavening agents for baked goods, cereals, pancake mixes and self-rising flours, Solvay Chemicals’ BICAR Sodium Bicarbonate Food Grade (FCC/USP) products have long been known for quality and reliability.
