The Grain Foods Foundation (GFF) celebrated National School Breakfast Week by using it as a way to engage traditional and social media to promote health benefits of a breakfast that includes grains. The week-long tribute included website postings of grain-based breakfast recipes.

The Grain Foods Foundation (GFF), Ridgway, Colo., featured a week-long tribute to National School Breakfast Week via its social channels. Each day, on its official “Six Servings” blog, GFF posted a grains-based breakfast recipe and highlighted the health benefits associated with eating breakfast. The blog entries were mentioned each day on Facebook and Twitter, driving followers back to the blog to learn more.

As a result of the project, GFF secured placement on the Family Education website, which drums 1.3 million unique visitors each month. An article featuring an interview with Ron Kleinman from the association’s scientific advisory board discussed why growing children need breakfast and the important role of grain foods in a healthy breakfast.
