Sunbelt brand granola bars, produced by McKee Foods, Inc., Collegedale, Tenn., is calling all superheroes to come to the aid of the National Breast Cancer Foundation, or at least all of the pink ones.
Through a new social media campaign, Sunbelt fans have the opportunity to "Ka-PINK" their Facebook profile photos by putting their faces onto one of three pink-themed superhero bodies. For every Facebook fan who Ka-PINKs their photo, Sunbelt will donate $1 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).
"We see this as a great way to raise awareness of breast cancer and support the fight against the disease," says Jeff Badger, brand manager for Sunbelt. "We hope our thousands of Facebook fans Ka-PINK themselves, just like I have."
To Ka-PINK your Facebook profile picture, go to the Sunbelt’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/SunbeltSnacks, "Like" the page, then click on the Ka-PINK promotion tab. Choose one of three pink-clad superhero personas and upload a photo or choose from one from your Facebook photo albums. Once you have been Ka-PINKed, the NBCF receives a donation from Sunbelt. Ka-PINKed images can be shared on Facebook or used as a Facebook profile image.
This is Sunbelt's second year supporting the NBCF. Last year, the company contributed $1 for every new fan on Facebook during October, and more than 21,000 new fans liked the Sunbelt page during the campaign.
Sunbelt is also offering special product packaging designed with pink ribbons to retailers across the country. For every box purchased, Sunbelt will donate a portion of the proceeds to the NBCF, up to $50,000.
Creative promotions like Sunbelt's Ka-PINK campaign help bring new enthusiasm to the fight against breast cancer, says Brent Hail, senior vice president of development for NBCF.
"Facebook is such a part of our lives," says Hail. "We go there to share information and to have fun. Sunbelt's Ka-PINK campaign encourages people to do both, and our foundation is the beneficiary. I've Ka-PINKed myself, have you?"
