Product Snapshot: For those consumers who search the crinkled corners of a bag of chips, looking for bittersweet, dark-colored gems, Herr Foods introduces Russet Kettle Cooked Potato Chips. Herr’s selects the finest russet potatoes — chosen for their uniform color after chilling — that have been cooled to temperatures between 46° and 48°F degrees. To create the old-fashioned, kettle-cooked style, the potatoes are then fried in small batches with pure vegetable oil. The result is a thicker, crispier chip.

Product Snapshot: Wonder is expanding its menu of whole grain options for health-conscious consumers with two new wheat breads — Wonder Made With Whole Grain Wheat and Wonder Made With Whole Grain Honey Wheat. Both are uniquely formulated to provide more whole grain nutrition than most “soft” wheat breads and offer a mild wheat taste and soft texture many consumers prefer.
