LU Prince Sandwich Crèmes
Company: Great Brands of Europe, Inc., White Plains, N.Y.
Introduced: May
Distribution: National
Suggested Retail: $1.19 for a 6.24-oz. package
Product Snapshot: LU Biscuits, the United States’ No. 1 premium imported biscuit brand, has introduced new LU Prince Sandwich Crèmes, made with rich cocoa crème filling layered between two crisp and generously sized vanilla flavored biscuits. Earlier this year, LU unveiled its first two sandwich cookies: LU Chocolate Mint Crèmes, a crisp cocoa sandwich cookie filled with mint crème and half-dipped in a rich chocolate coating; and LU Ginger Lemon Crèmes, two spicy ginger biscuits with a tart-yet-sweet lemon crème filling.
Ingredients: Wheat flour, sugar, vegetable oil shortening (contains one or more of the following: palm oil, hydrogenated palm kernel oil, palm kernel oil), low-fat cocoa, eggs,  glucose syrup, lactose and milk proteins, salt, leavening (sodium bicarbonate, ammonium bicarbonate), artificial vanilla flavor, soy lecithin: an emulsifier.

Herr’s Russet Kettle Cooked Potato Chips
Company: Herr Foods, Nottingham, Pa.
Introduced: July
Distribution: Regional to Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia.
Suggested Retail: 2.125-oz. and 9-oz. bags for $0.99 and $2.89, respectively
Product Snapshot: For those consumers who search the crinkled corners of a bag of chips, looking for bittersweet, dark-colored gems, Herr Foods introduces Russet Kettle Cooked Potato Chips. Herr’s selects the finest russet potatoes — chosen for their uniform color after chilling — that have been cooled to temperatures between 46° and 48°F degrees. To create the old-fashioned, kettle-cooked style, the potatoes are then fried in small batches with pure vegetable oil. The result is a thicker, crispier chip.
Ingredients: Choice Russet Potatoes cooked in vegetable oil (contains one or more of the following: corn, cottonseed, soybean), with salt added. No preservatives added.

Suggested Retail:  $2.85 for a 20-oz. loaf
Product Snapshot: Wonder is expanding its menu of whole grain options for health-conscious consumers with two new wheat breads — Wonder Made With Whole Grain Wheat and Wonder Made With Whole Grain Honey Wheat. Both are uniquely formulated to provide more whole grain nutrition than most “soft” wheat breads and offer a mild wheat taste and soft texture many consumers prefer. Wonder Made With Whole Grain Wheat provides 16 gm. of whole grains per serving, and Wonder Made With Whole Grain Honey Wheat provides 8 gm. of whole grains per serving. Both new breads are good sources of fiber, calcium, folic acid and Vitamin D.
