DuPont Packaging Awards entry deadline approaching

DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers, Wilmington, Del., is accepting entries for its 25th Awards for Packaging Innovation through Feb. 28. The competition is open to brand owners, packaging designers, converters and manufacturers around the world. Winners will be selected by a jury based on excellence in one or more of these areas: innovation, sustainability and cost/waste reduction. There is no fee for entry, and DuPont materials do not need to be in the packaging structure.

“Packaging plays the role of ‘silent hero’ in so many facets of life – delivering safer bottles, fresher food, affordable and convenient consumer goods,” said Shanna Moore, global director, sustainability, DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers and leader/chair of the awards program. “This anniversary year posed the opportunity to take a retrospective view to see how past winners changed our lives and to envision a future where packaging is helping to solve world problems. In the coming months, we will be highlighting past breakthroughs in packaging that have significantly transformed the way we live.”

This year’s jury comprises industry experts from diverse backgrounds, who bring insights earned from decades of experience delivering innovative, cost-savings solutions and sustainability ideas to the global packaging industry: Professor Antônio Dantas Cabral, Ph.D., Mauá School of Engineering, Brazil; Suzanne Fisher, Pratt Industries—Paper Converter/Recycler, U.S.; Mary Gregg, Campbell Soup Co., U.S.; Sudhakar Gupta, International Food Stuffs Co., United Arab Emirates; Ann O’Hara, Amcor Flexibles, Australia; Jeff Schuetz, Sonoco, U.S.; and Jason Wadsworth, Wegmans Food Markets Inc., U.S. Packaging Hall of Famer Brian Wagner, PTIS, a HAVI Global Solutions Direct Co., will reprise his role as facilitator.

Winners of a DuPont Packaging Award will be honored on May 16 during a ceremony in Wilmington. Entry forms, guidelines and past winners can be found at
