Bühler, Uzwil, Switzerland, won top honor in the Cross-Functional Collaboration category at the Procurement Leaders Awards ceremony in London in May.
The category recognizes a procurement team that has successfully worked with another function from the same organization to deliver a successful project or initiative. Bühler’s nomination was based on the successful implementation of its Total Synchro Concept and Motor Selection Tool, initiatives that are making a vital contribution to streamlining manufacturing and global supply-chain flexibility.
Other companies shortlisted for the honor were Dublin Airport Authority, GlaxoSmithKline, Intel, Masco Corp./Delta Faucet, Mondelez International Projects One and Two, Rio Tino and Tata Steel.
“The team can be proud that Bühler figured so prominently in this event, because the annual Procurement Leaders Awards are recognized as crowning achievements for the function worldwide,” said John Walker, Bühler’s chief procurement officer, at the ceremony. “It’s important to emphasize the cross-functional aspect of this category, because this is not just a procurement award. It’s really an engineering, product development, manufacturing, logistics and project management award, and it reflects how well our teams work together to serve our customers. That makes winning this award all the more exciting and inspiring.”
