McDonald’s considers offering pastries on breakfast menu
McDonald’s is facing tighter competition for fast-food breakfast from both traditional and nontraditional foes as well as fighting a generational values shift. In response, the fast-food chain has started testing new breakfast menu items.
According to a report by Bloomberg, some McDonald’s locations in Southern California are offering pastries in a different flavors that sell for $1.99 for two, or $1.29 for two with the purchase of a coffee. That report noted that the fast-food chain has a general goal to improve its breakfast sales over the next three years and compete directly against Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks, which also sell coffee and pastries.
