Allen Mckie, sales Manager for the Upper Midwest for Georgia nut Co., has Retired. Mckie had Been With Georgia nut Since it Acquired Chocolate House in 2005. he was President of Chocolate House From 1990 to 2005.
McKie was actively involved in the confectionery
industry throughout his career. He was a member of the National
Confectioners Association’s Board of Directors and served on its
Executive Committee. In addition, he was president of the Milwaukee chapter
of the American Association of Candy Technologists and served on its
Advisory Board.
He plans to stay active in the confectionery
industry during his retirement; to travel with his wife, Anne; to spend
more time with his eight grandchildren; and to volunteer.
Cassie Folk has joined the
National Confectioners Association as vice president of federal government
affairs. Prior to joining NCA, Folk was the director of government
relations for Feld Entertainment, which produces Ringling Bros. and Barnum
& Bailey circuses and Disney on Ice.
Ben Plavin has joined
Koko’s Confectionery and Novelty as product development manager.
Plavin’s prior employers include Mattel,
Toy Max (Candy Planet), A.C. Coin Slot and Frankford Candy and Chocolate,
where he spearheaded Nickelodeon’s penetration into the seasonal
candy category.
