Buffalo Peanuts
Buffalo Peanuts are dry roasted peanuts coated with a
mixture of brown sugar and cayenne pepper. Roasting without oil extends the
shelf life for Buffalo Peanuts, which are certified Kosher, to 12 months. A
4-ounce package has a suggested retail price of $1.29; a tub filled with 12
4-ounce packages retails for $15.48; and a 12-pound bulk pack of Buffalo
Peanuts sells for $20.28. The company is targeting mainstream retail
channels as well as specialty venues, including stadiums, bars and schools.
Jack Link’s X-Bites
Jack Link’s X-Bites are billed as the first-ever
bite-sized, smoked sausage snack in a single-serve, tube-style,
“rip-n-tip” package. Made from premium cuts of meat, the
X-Bites are tasty pieces of naturally smoked sausage that are easy to eat,
conveniently sized and portable. X-Bites come in a 2-ounce package with a
suggested retail price of $1.99. Original and pepperoni flavors are
offered.
Macadamia Nuts in Stand-up Bags
Hawaiian Host is unveiling a new macadamia nut flavor,
Maui Onion and Garlic Macadamias, and offering three island favorites
— Dry Roasted Salted Macadamias, Hawaiian Honey Glazed Macadamias and
Premium Milk Chocolate Macadamias in convenient, 11-ounce recloseable
stand-up bags. Maui Onion and Garlic Macadamias are flavored with the taste
of sweet onions coupled with an added zing of garlic salt. Dry Roasted
Salted Macadamias are premium-grade nuts, dry roasted to the peak of
perfection. Hawaiian Honey Glazed Macadamias are coated with honey
harvested from Big Island beehives. Premium Milk Chocolate Macadamias are
dusted with confectioner’s sugar for an added touch of sweetness. The
suggested retail price for each of the new offerings is $7.99 to $8.99.

Value Nut Brands
New from Mellace Family Brands is Mama Mellace’s
Nut Hut, a value-priced snack line targeted to the convenience and dollar
classes of trade. Nut Hut branded products are processed using the same
water-roasting technique as Mama Mellace’s premium line. Three
flavors are offered: Steakhouse Peanuts, Sweet & Salty Peanuts and
Cinnamon Peanuts, all in 4-ounce bags.
Emerald Dark Chocolate Almonds
Emerald Cocoa Roast Dark Chocolate Almonds combine dry
roasted almonds with a rich dark chocolate flavoring. The product is
shelf-stable and comes in an on-the-go canister. One serving, which can be
served by using the lid of the container, contains 150 calories.
