Head Game
Feed your mind and your stomach with Knowledge in a Nutshell cookies from Jenny Lee Bakery. Though walnut-shaped, the cookies are completely nut-free and chock-full of popular trivia questions sure to fill your noggin with plenty of food for thought.
The Edible Game-A Smart Cookie is the brain child of KIN-JEN, who is partnered with 75-year old Jenny Lee. Both companies also have teamed up with Knowledge in a Nutshell, the creators of nine books of fun facts on history, music, sports, movies, success and any other manner of Americana you can think of. And it’s those interesting and fascinating facts that go into each cookie. As the company notes “there are cookies and there are games — this gives you both.”
“It’s America’s answer to the fortune cookie,” says Audrey Reichblum, president of arPR inc. “But they taste a lot better, and are more challenging and fun.”
Designed by international architect Sylvester Damianos, FAIA, the cookies are made from a proprietary formula reminiscent of a shortbread and sugar cookie hybrid. Each cookie is hollow inside and chocolate-iced on three sides, allowing for the questions and answers to be rolled up and tucked inside, so that only the “Q” and the “A” ends stick out.
“It’s not a mainstream cookie, and is sold via word of mouth, off the web or for special events,” Reichblum explains. “We’re the cookie that entertains … it’s a quiz, it’s a contest, it’s a puzzle.”
Cram your cranium with Knowledge in a Nutshell cookies, available at Jenny Lee Bakery stores, by calling 1-800-NUTSHELL or visiting www.knowledgeinanutshell.com. The cookies retail for $1.00 each, $12.95 for a box of 12, and $19.95 for a tub of 20.
Chew on This
See if you know the answer to this Knowledge in a Nutshell brain teaser: “Where is Strawberry Fields in the Beatles’ famous song?” It’s not on Abbey Road or in Norwegian Wood. The answer? “It’s an orphanage in Liverpool.”
