Kellogg Co. expands Kashi brand with Pure bars
Veronica Bosgraaf, the founder of Pure bars, an organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, vegetarian snack bar brand, has announced via YouTube that Kashi, a subsidiary of Kellogg Co., has acquired the brand (see “Pure joins Kashi family” on YouTube).
Bosgraaf notes that the idea for the bars took shape when her daughter, Anna, decided to follow a vegetarian diet. As a mom, she sought to support this decision by creating the bars to help her daughter maintain a nutritionally balanced diet.
The Pure brand includes a line of Fruit & Nut bars, as well as an Ancient Grains bar, made with quinoa, crispy brown rice, amaranth, flax seed and hemp.
