Advanced ROSS discharge systems

Equipment Snapshot: ROSS builds advanced Discharge Systems with mechanisms to seamlessly fit almost any high-viscosity application. The capabilities of the Discharge System increase efficiency following the mixing process. These include scales for dispensing precise dosages with high repeatability and accuracy, as well as elaborate PLC (PID) controls for weighing & dosing. ROSS Discharge Systems feature a precisely machined platen fitted with an O-ring which rides against the vessel wall as the platen is lowered hydraulically and pushes down on the product.

The model DS-10 system pictured below includes a scale system with 10 kg capacity and +/- 3 grams accuracy. The operator places an empty container on the scale and the Discharge System will automatically meter product into the container until the weight set point is reached. The scale is programmed to auto-tare between runs. Safety features include a plexiglass enclosure and proximity switches preventing operation of the platen if the mix vessel is not in place and/or the safety shield doors are not closed. The control box allows data acquisition covering an array of parameters including batch weights, date/time, speeds, etc. The IP69K harsh environment-rated scale is protected against ingress of dust and high temperature, high pressure water.
