Coconut sugar, lucuma and rice syrup—natural sweeteners with a relatively low glycemic index—give the sucrose-free pieces their sweet taste. The organic high-protein chocolate pieces contain up to 30 percent more protein then standard milk chocolate, according to the company, while retaining the delicate taste of milk chocolate. They’re also available with reduced sugar. HERZA’s organic chocolate pieces are available in numerous shapes as well as in the company’s popular three-color mix (white, dark and milk chocolate), which can be used to decorate muffins, cakes and gateaux.
