Five confectionery buyers from five different candy stores gathered in a small conference room - and once they started talking, they didn't stop.

"Most chocolate stores sell chocolate, but Chocolate Works is unique in that customers can see the process from beginning to end, even participate in it, and then get to eat it!" says Rhonda Daniels, co-owner.

The new owner of Powell’s Sweet Shoppe is planning a major expansion of the brand, including both corporate locations and adding more franchise locations.

“Our new East Coast home will have the signature Sugar Factory sweets our fans love, but there will be specific touches to the D.C. location that you cannot get anywhere else,” says owner, Charissa Davidovici.

Anyone craving some gourmet chocolate and peanut butter now just needs to hope for a layover or a final destination in San Diego.

Visitors can create custom chocolate bars, take personal tasting tours and play candy games in addition to shopping in candy boutiques that are exclusive to Sweet! Hollywood. And of course, no Wonka-inspired candy store would be complete without a 700-ft. gumball track propelled by a red Ferrari.
