It is becoming more and more difficult to find professional sanitarians who possess the basic skills required to recognize food safety issues and manage programs in today’s food facilities. Much of the knowledge required to run successful food plant programs is not learned from a textbook, but through on-the-job training, career path mentorships, and applied workshops.
AIB International’s hands-on training program develops food plant supervisors or lead personnel to become future department managers, floor foremen, or quality managers. The four-week course uses interactive applications to prepare professionals to assess a facility, establish sanitation and food safety goals, develop programs and activities and manage them for continuous improvement.
Field trips to working food plants give students the opportunity to see sanitation and food safety principles applied to a variety of food manufacturing and distribution facilities, equipment and environments.
