Brazil is the partner country of ISM 2014
Third largest confectionery market in the world, the country will be represented by its Confectionery Associations, Apex-Brasil and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the most important event for the confectionery industry
Brazil will be the partner country of ISM 2014, the world’s leading international Sweets and Biscuits fair, to be held in Cologne, Germany, between January 26thand 29th. The exhibiting Brazilian companies will have the opportunity to present the country´s considerable range of products along with its well known cultural diversity.
The participation of Brazilian companies, which represent the third largest confectionery industry worldwide, is being promoted by Abicab – Brazilian Chocolate, Cocoa, Peanuts, Candies and Byproducts Industry Association – together with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency – Apex-Brasil and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
With pure Brazilian spirit and joy the Pavilion will make visitors feel as if they were in one of the most ravishing postcards in the world, Rio de Janeiro´s Copacabana sidewalk. Visitors will also have the opportunity of tasting typical products and seeing new market trends, as well as discovering other surprises throughout the fair in the Brazilian Pavilion.
Optimism
Furthermore, a cocktail with genuinely Brazilian food and drinks will be served on the 27thJanuary and guests will be able to obtain information on how to get in touch with the respective suppliers, while tasting the various products. “We will bring the tropical breeze to Europe,” ABICAB vice-president for Exports Solange Isidoro emphasizes.
According to the vice-president for Exports, as the partner country of ISM 2014, Brazil will have an opportunity to show its standing in the international confectionery market as the third-largest global producer of candies and chocolates “Companies are getting ready to show high quality and innovative products to international buyers. “We are very optimistic”, adds Solange Isidoro.
The Brazilian Association of the Biscuit Industry – ANIB will also take part in the fair.
Sales
During the 43rdedition of ISM, which was held between 27th and 30th January 2013 in Cologne, the companies taking part in Sweet Brasil - the export promotion project coordinated by ABICAB together with Apex-Brasil - showcased around 90 launchings to more than 1,400 visitors from 65 countries. All together the companies closed deals to the tune of almost US$ 6 million and made contacts that should result in sales worth just under US$ 16 million until the end of the year.
Every year around 1,400 suppliers from 70 countries participate in the trade fair. It is the most important information and business platform for the sector, attracting a top-class trade public of about 35,000 buyers from over 150 countries. With good registration figures in all segments and the return of well-known companies, the upcoming ISM will certainly be a big domestic and international success.
