Drexel University's Culinary Arts and Science, Nutrition, and Food Entrepreneurship and Innovation students used almond ingredients in new product ideas catering to younger consumers' tastes.

“Battle of the Brands" is a reality TV competition featuring better-for-you food and beverage brands vying for increased brand awareness, sales and investment.

The competition divided a group of 30 students in After School Matters' (ASM) culinary program into ten teams and tasked them with creating unique recipes within “salty” and “sweet” categories, incorporating Kellogg products into their ingredients.

The contest asked participants to create a Rube Goldberg Machine, a chain-reaction contraption that accomplishes a simple task in a complicated and hilarious way, to shake and pour a box of Nerds.

Elias Läderach of Switzerland won the 2018 World Chocolate Masters competition, sponsored by brand Cacao Barry at the Salon du Chocolat in Paris last week. Florent Cheveau, executive pastry chef for the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, placed third.
