Goodway Technologies Dry Steam Belt Cleaning Systems use pressurized, super-heated dry steam to power allergens, mold and food remnants off belts of all types. The systems use very little water, which helps with conservation and mold control, makes them safe around electrical equipment and sensitive controls, and eliminate concerns about employees handling potentially hazardous cleaning chemicals.

The Volumetric Screw Feeder and Volumetric Screw Feeder with Overflight from Powder Process-Solutions meet 3-A sanitary standard 81-00 and work well with medium- to high-capacity handling of sanitary bulk materials. The overflight model is used to improve feeding if the feed materials are non-free flowing. Both have auger diameters ranging from 4 to 10 inches and are constructed of stainless steel.

VAC-U-MAX batch-weigh vacuum convey systems are designed for the food industry to custom deliver powders, flakes, and other granular bulk materials to process vessels with a high level of accuracy based on preprogrammed formulations. Systems are designed in 316L Stainless Steel and USDA Dairy accepted, and combine modern computerized technology with innovative pneumatic and mechanical conveying, for automated dust-free ingredient handling with little or no human interface.

A typical “VAC-U-MAX Up-and-In System” conveys food ingredients from drums, totes, supersacks, IBC’s, or from a VAC-U-MAX Bag Dump Station designed with pick-up adapter, integrated dust collector and empty bag compactor. System incorporates a filter receiver with multi-filter and wafer valve, a VAC-U-MAX positive displacement pump, and load lifter, for lifting 25 kg bags.

The main advantages of the new Coperion K-Tron electronic pressure compensation (EPC) system include improved accuracy and reliability as well as lower initial cost and easier installation compared to traditional mechanical pressure compensation systems. Retrofitting options for existing feeders are available. EPC can be installed on a majority of Coperion K-Tron gravimetric feeders in almost any application and all industries.

The Coperion ZZB Hygienic compact stainless steel rotary valve is especially developed for small capacities and high sanitary needs. The interior and exterior polished surfaces prevent undesired product deposits. With the standard extraction device, the rotor can be easily removed from the housing.

The Coperion K-Tron Sanitary Filter Receiver (SFR) provides automatic separation of product material from the convey air for vacuum and pressure conveying sanitary applications in batch and continuous processes. The SFR is specifically designed for stringent food applications requiring quick clean-out and to reduce food contaminants and/or the cross contamination of allergens.

Multi-Conveyor recently built a 2:1 servo combiner to transport poly bags of food product that discharge from two customer supplied wrappers at 90 bags per minute. Products then combine into a single lane at 180 bags per minute for delivery to the customer's secondary packaging equipment. These stainless steel, sanitary constructed conveyor lines, for a caustic washdown application, are equipped with plastic side flexing, straight running chains, and polyester metering belts.

Multi-Conveyor recently built a stainless steel constructed plastic belt conveyor system designed for accumulating 70 feet of product on a 40” wide belt. This particular project was designed for raw food product but the concept can be used for many applications and is adaptable for different belt widths and lengths.

Multi-Conveyor recently released this stainless steel constructed, washdown compatible, infeed and discharge conveyor system to gently invert products 180 degrees. This particular application uses circular guides that invert the product, front to back, while maintaining full control during the inversion process.

G&F Systems’ Spiral Evolve is the only USA manufactured cage-less spiral conveyor system. The cage-less design allows the Spiral Evolve design advantages over a traditional spiral conveyor system. Spiral Evolve has expanded to include plastic modular belting via Intralox and additional stainless steel belt options via Cambridge.

The Volkmann VS200 vacuum conveyor can be used to load flavorings, blends, corn grits, rice flour and other formulations required for the High Pressure Extruder production of snacks using the Reading Bakery extruder. The rate of transfer is approximately 500 lbs./hr. depending on the density of the blend.

McVities turned to Gericke to install a fully automated, flexible manufacturing and plant control system with “real time” data able to handle different recipe types and increase and decrease throughput to match packaging rates. The Gericke GMS 700 liter batch mixer was chosen due to its ability to gently handle the ingredients while maintaining hygiene standard during the many recipe changes over short periods of time.

Flexicon's FLEXI-DISC Sanitary Tubular Cable Conveyor slides fragile snack foods gently and dust-free, through smooth stainless steel tubing using high-strength, one-piece polymer discs affixed to polymer-coated 304 or 316 stainless steel cable. The discs evacuate the conveyor and allow rapid sanitizing using wet or dry cleaning accessories.

Flexicon's Sanitary Bag Dump Station for pneumatic conveying systems collects airborne dust from dumping activities. Tool-free cleaning is made possible by optional rocker arms that support the hood assembly above the hopper rim, and by a stainless rotary airlock valve with integral support rails allowing rotor assembly to slide out.

BULK-OUT Bulk Bag Weigh Batch Unloading System with Manual Dumping Station and Flexible Screw Conveyor, from Flexicon, automatically conveys weighed batches of materials to downstream processes and allows rapid sanitizing. A FLEXI-FORCE lump breaker reduces agglomerates and promotes material flow into the charging adapter of the flexible screw conveyor.

Flexicon’s TIP-TITE Sanitary Box Dumper forms a dust-tight seal between the container and equipment, tips the container to 45, 60 or 90 degrees beyond horizontal, and discharges material through a pneumatically actuated slide gate at controlled rates. Stainless steel construction includes round horizontal members, sloped-top control enclosures and capped threads.

With hopper, support boom and conveyor assembly tilted down, the Sanitary Tilt-Down Flexible Screw Conveyor from Flexicon can fit through doorways, and allows the flexible screw to be removed easily for thorough cleaning. The flexible screw conveyor transports free- and non-free-flowing materials including blends.

Flexicon's mobile Bulk Bag Filling System with integral metal detector/separator and flexible screw conveyor allows dust-free filling at multiple locations. Twin-Centerpost Bulk Bag Filler detects metal in the free-fall stream of material and ejects it. Tilt-Down Flexible Screw Conveyor on caster-mounted frame can be maneuvered through narrow aisles and doorways.

Flexicon's BULK-OUT BFC Bulk Bag Discharger is mounted on load cells, enabling a PLC to stop a vibratory feeder once a pre-programmed batch weight of material is charged into a FLEXI-DISC Tubular Cable Conveyor, dust-free. Complete evacuation of the conveyor allows accurate batch weights to be delivered downstream.

Wire Belt’s The Ladder-Flex Conveyor from Wire Belt Co. of America is a great option for processors who are looking to either spread or converge product evenly, or for diverging or bringing their products together.
