AIB International names Aaron Edwards CEO
The leader’s past experience includes stints at Ingredion and Vibrant Ingredients.

AIB International has announced the appointment of Aaron K. Edwards as its new CEO, effective December 1.
According to the company, with nearly 30 years of global experience in the food, beverage, and nutrition ingredients industry, Edwards joins AIB at a pivotal moment for the global food supply chain. He reportedly brings a blend of scientific depth, commercial discipline, and global leadership that positions AIB to better serve clients amid increasingly complex demands in food safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
Most recently, Edwards served as president at Vibrant Ingredients (formerly FFP), where he led the integration of four acquired companies and expanded the business into new markets. Prior to that, he spent 25 years at Ingredion in leadership roles across North America, Europe, and Asia, where he focused on innovation, growth, and building strong global teams.
“Aaron brings not only a deep understanding of the food industry but also a collaborative leadership style that inspires confidence at every level,” says Brad Allen, chair of the AIB Holdings board of directors. “His global mindset and proven ability to lead organizations through complex transitions make him the ideal leader to guide AIB into its next chapter.”
A food scientist with degrees from the University of Tennessee and Cornell University, Edwards is said to bring technical and operational insight into food safety. He has led food protection initiatives, overseen ingredient safety protocols, and driven continuous improvement in quality systems throughout his career. His influence, according to AIB, also extends beyond the companies he has served. Edwards has worked with the USDA and FDA to shape food safety regulations related to meat curing and natural flavors and has collaborated with USDA/FSIS and the Institute of Food Technologists on science-based regulatory reform. This experience is reportedly intended to enhance AIB’s ability to help clients stay ahead of shifting regulatory expectations while reinforcing its position as a trusted industry leader.
“With Aaron at the helm, AIB is well-positioned to expand its global leadership in food safety, research, and education,” says Tameka Carr, chair of the AIB board of Trustees. “His deep experience in the food and beverage sector will help accelerate our nonprofit mission to empower and strengthen the industry in building a safer, more resilient global food supply chain.”
AIB states Edwards’ appointment signals “a strategic leap forward for clients who rely on AIB for trusted expertise in a time of global food system transformation.”
Edwards says, “AIB International is a global leader in food safety. With over 100 years of legacy in the food industry and a long-standing role in advancing training and GMP standards, we have earned our reputation by helping clients around the world exceed the highest expectations. My focus is to help us move faster, go deeper, and deliver even more meaningful value, from start-ups to the world’s largest food brands. We will continue to innovate and lead, ensuring our clients not only meet the standard, but define it.”
